Liver Function Profile
Liver Function Tests are a group of blood tests that are used to check how well your liver is working. The liver is an important organ that helps with digestion, filters toxins from the blood, and stores energy. These tests can help to diagnose liver diseases, monitor the progression of liver conditions, and check for any potential side effects of certain medications. The tests measure levels of different enzymes, proteins, and other substances in the blood that can indicate how well the liver is functioning. Abnormal results from these tests can indicate liver damage, inflammation, or other problems.

BIO MARKER
Alanine Aminotransferase (ALT)
Alanine Aminotransferase (ALT) is an enzyme primarily found in the liver. It plays a role in amino acid metabolism. Elevated ALT levels in the blood can signal liver inflammation or damage, often due to conditions such as hepatitis, fatty liver disease, or alcohol abuse. This test is frequently used to monitor liver function and diagnose liver-related health issues.
Albumin
Albumin is a protein produced by the liver that helps maintain blood volume and pressure by regulating the oncotic pressure of the blood. Low levels of albumin can suggest liver disease, kidney problems, or malnutrition. It is commonly measured to assess overall health, liver function, and nutritional status.
Alkaline Phosphatase (ALP)
Aspartate Aminotransferase (AST)
Aspartate Aminotransferase (AST) is an enzyme found in the liver, heart, and muscles. Elevated AST levels can indicate liver damage or disease, such as hepatitis or cirrhosis, as well as muscle injuries. This test is used to assess liver function and diagnose liver-related health issues.
Gamma-Glutamyltransferase (GGT)
Gamma-Glutamyltransferase (GGT) is an enzyme involved in liver function and detoxification. Elevated levels can indicate liver disease, bile duct obstruction, or alcohol abuse. Testing GGT helps assess liver health.
Globulin
Globulin is a group of proteins in the blood that includes antibodies and transport proteins. Abnormal levels can indicate liver or kidney disease, immune disorders, or nutritional deficiencies.
Total Bilirubin
Total Bilirubin measures the amount of bilirubin in the blood. Elevated levels can indicate liver dysfunction, bile duct obstruction, or hemolytic anaemia. Testing helps diagnose and monitor these conditions.
Total Protein
Total Protein measures the total amount of protein in the blood. Abnormal levels can indicate liver or kidney disease, nutritional deficiencies, or other health conditions.
