DESCRIPTION
Anallyse the widest range of hormones and systems in your body affected by fitness activity, that can be measured with a blood test. If you are taking supplements and want to monitor the affects these are having then this is the test for you. If you are concerned that you may not be responding to your exercise as you should then these are the hormones and systems to check. Your liver function is tested which is where your body processes most of the food and substances you introduce into your body. Thyroid function is checked with TSH and FT4 as if this is not working you will not have the energy you should. The widest range of hormones are analysed. All these hormones are very important for both men and women – although in different concentrations of course. Free & Total Testosterone, SHBG, DHEAS and Free Androgen Index are checked. Oestradiol, Luteinising Hormone, Follicle Stimulating Hormone, Prolactin are all included.
BIO MARKER
Albumin
Albumin is a protein produced by the liver that helps maintain blood volume and pressure by regulating the oncotic pressure of the blood. Low levels of albumin can suggest liver disease, kidney problems, or malnutrition. It is commonly measured to assess overall health, liver function, and nutritional status.
Globulin
Globulin is a group of proteins in the blood that includes antibodies and transport proteins. Abnormal levels can indicate liver or kidney disease, immune disorders, or nutritional deficiencies.
Total Protein
Total Protein measures the total amount of protein in the blood. Abnormal levels can indicate liver or kidney disease, nutritional deficiencies, or other health conditions.
Alkaline Phosphatase (ALP)
Alanine Aminotransferase (ALT)
Alanine Aminotransferase (ALT) is an enzyme primarily found in the liver. It plays a role in amino acid metabolism. Elevated ALT levels in the blood can signal liver inflammation or damage, often due to conditions such as hepatitis, fatty liver disease, or alcohol abuse. This test is frequently used to monitor liver function and diagnose liver-related health issues.
Aspartate Aminotransferase (AST)
Aspartate Aminotransferase (AST) is an enzyme found in the liver, heart, and muscles. Elevated AST levels can indicate liver damage or disease, such as hepatitis or cirrhosis, as well as muscle injuries. This test is used to assess liver function and diagnose liver-related health issues.
Gamma-Glutamyltransferase (GGT)
Gamma-Glutamyltransferase (GGT) is an enzyme involved in liver function and detoxification. Elevated levels can indicate liver disease, bile duct obstruction, or alcohol abuse. Testing GGT helps assess liver health.
Total Bilirubin
Total Bilirubin measures the amount of bilirubin in the blood. Elevated levels can indicate liver dysfunction, bile duct obstruction, or hemolytic anaemia. Testing helps diagnose and monitor these conditions.
Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH)
Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH) regulates thyroid gland activity. Abnormal levels can indicate thyroid disorders, such as hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism. Testing TSH helps assess thyroid function.
Free Thyroxine (FT4)
Free Thyroxine (FT4) is the active form of thyroid hormone in the blood. It helps regulate metabolism and energy levels. Abnormal levels can indicate thyroid disorders, such as hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism.
Oestradiol (E2)
Oestradiol (E2) is an oestrogen hormone important for reproductive health. Abnormal levels can indicate hormonal imbalances or conditions related to the reproductive system.
Follicular Stimulating Hormone (FSH)
Follicular Stimulating Hormone (FSH) is a hormone involved in regulating the reproductive processes, including the menstrual cycle and sperm production. Abnormal levels can indicate fertility issues or menopausal status.
Luteinizing Hormone (LH)
Luteinizing Hormone (LH) is a hormone involved in regulating the menstrual cycle and ovulation. Abnormal levels can indicate fertility issues or hormonal imbalances. Testing LH helps evaluate reproductive health.
Prolactin
Prolactin is a hormone that stimulates breast milk production. Elevated levels can indicate pituitary disorders, such as prolactinomas, or other conditions affecting reproductive health.
Sex Hormone Binding Globulin (SHBG)
Sex Hormone Binding Globulin (SHBG) is a protein that binds to sex hormones, affecting their availability in the blood. Abnormal levels can indicate hormonal imbalances or endocrine disorders.
Testosterone
Testosterone is a hormone involved in male reproductive health and muscle mass. Abnormal levels can indicate hormonal imbalances or conditions such as testosterone deficiency or excess.
Free Testosterone Calculation
Free Testosterone Calculation measures the amount of unbound testosterone in the blood, which is available for use by the body. It helps evaluate testosterone levels in cases of hormonal imbalances.
Dehydroepiandrosterone Sulfate (DHEA-S)
Dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate (DHEA-S) is a hormone produced by the adrenal glands. It is involved in producing sex hormones and assessing levels can help evaluate adrenal function and hormone imbalances.
Free Androgen Index (FAI)
Free Androgen Index (FAI) is a calculation used to assess the amount of free testosterone relative to the total amount of testosterone in the blood. It helps evaluate androgen excess or deficiency.
